Limits to cell size

The larger the cell becomes, the more demands the cell places on it's DNA. As the cell gets bigger there comes a time when surface area is not large enough to meet the demands of the cells volume and the cell stops growing. To insure the cell works properly, it must divide forming two new daughter cells.
