Active Prayer Life

Without an active, open prayer life with the Heavenly Father, we can't know him and be close to him. We must not eorry, but give all of our cares to God and trust that he will watch over us.

Knowledge of the Word

We need a knowledge of the Bible to see what God has done in the past, give us encouragement for today, and give us guidance for the future.

Teachable Spirit

The Word will teach us everything we need to know, but we need to be willing to hear it. Don't be prideful.

Controlled Tongue

Without a controlled tongue, we might say things we don't mean and hurt those around us. Also, don't use profanity or insult others, and don't use God's name in vain.

Training

Training for ministry and missionary work is important so that we know what to do before you go out and make new believers, or encourage current believers. It's also good to have a firm foundation.

Courage

Courage is being brave enough to take a stand for what we love and believe in and stay there, even when we're scared or are being ridiculed. If we ask for courage, God will give it to us.

Like-minded Friends

It's important to have like-minded friends who will stand with you on your beliefs so that you don't stray from the correct path or get discouraged.

Discernment

God gave us a conscience so that we could determine what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is evil, what is godly and what is sinful. This is so we don't unknowingly follow the wrong path, thinking it's a godly path.

Grace and Love of God

Without the grace and love of God, we wouldn't even be here. We should have all been struck down and punished the moment that Adam and Eve sinned, but we weren't bevause of God's grace and the love of jesus christ. It is important to remember this and to always be grateful.

2 Timothy 2:1-4

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs- he wants to please his commanding officer.

2 Timothy 2:5-7

Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not recieve the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to recieve a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

Similarly

2 Timothy 2:8-10

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering, even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

Remember

2 Timothy 2:11-13

Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him, we will also live with him.

If we endure, we will also reign with him.

If we disown him, he will also disown us.

If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

2 Timothy 2:14-16

Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarrelling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.

2 Timothy 2:17-19

Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymaneaus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the ressurection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed withthis inscription: 'The Lord knows those who are his,' and 'Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.'

2 Timothy 2:20-21

In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work.

2 Timothy 2:22-23

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

Flee

2 Timothy 2:24-26

And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
