August 25: The Beatles go to his meditation camp up in Bangor, North Wales at Normal College
-Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithful also attend, Cynthia is accidentally left behind and John didn't notice

August 27: Brian Epsteindies of an accidental Carbitol overdose at the age of 32
-Peter Brown, assistant of Epstein called them, Paul was shocked and saddened but they were all kind of sedated, like little children
-John told reporters that their meditation gave them the ability to cope with the shock

September 5: First "I am the Walrus" session, first time to bring in outside singers "Mike Sammes Singers"

-Peter Brown warns the Beatles about MMY's unsaintly ways (too concerned with publicity and money)

-MMY has a helicopter pad, he's not actually poor, tries to get the Beatles to give him 25% of profits

-Cynthia Lennon learns of John and Yoko's communication by mail

-Many widows living at the ashram who've given all their money but can't leave

-Ringo and Maureen first to leave (he claims stomach problems, she claims insects)

-Paul and Jane second to leave (didn't grasp TM)

-George and John leave together, though George is most interested, they cite pressing business back in London

-John writes "Sexy Sadie" about the Maharishi, originally an obsenity-laced song that George Martin has him change

-Admits she was wrong trying to get him to change, last words of book "no blame"

-Learns that "Norweigan Wood" was about John's affairs on tour, Hamburg, Liverpool, etc

-Meanwhile, John sends her on a vacation to Greece while John and Yoko record "Two Virgins" and finally have sex

-Cynthia comes back to find Yoko in Cynthia's bathrobe in their kitchen

-Yoko gets knocked up, John sues Cynthia for sleeping with Magic Alex but drops suit because he has cheated with Yoko

Lighting Director for the Greatful Dead, also a chemist who made LSD, one strain called purple haze and blue cheer

Monterey Pop Festival - Beatles sent camera crew to film it (didn't have permission)

Stanley made a batch of clear liquid LSD, took camera lenses, filled it up with the liquid LSD, you couldn't tell what it was going through customs

Once they had it in London they had it processed down to powder

Born in 1933 in Tokyo, grew up wealthy and then poor because of WWII

Dropped out of Sarah Lawrence College and became involved in NYC avant-garde

Conceptual art:

-requires audience participation/interaction
-Artistic event can influence thought patterns and spur social change
-Idea behind the work is more important than the material qualities
