Use: folic acid antagonist

MOA: inhibits dihydrofolate reductase

Much lower doses are used to Tx rheumatoid arthtitis then cancer.

Adverse Rxn: cyclopenia, esp leukopenia and megaloblastic anemia, most commonly mucosal ulceration and nausea.

inhibit phospholipase A2: prevent arachoadonic acid production and prevent prostaglandin production
