whats the steps when making a composite repair |
have the right equipment and saftey equipment the first step is to map out the area and find out the extent damage, and look in the amm/srm to see the layout and most importantly is it deemed un serviceable due to the level of damage remove the damage, use a metal plate as a layer to hold the new material that will be in place of the old and further layers that are built up from the same fiber thats coated with resin if not pre pregnated and always make sure that the layers are running in the same layer |

what are the steps of repairing a honeycomb structure |
remove damage and leave the bottom skin untouched, make sure all the visual honeycomb structure is intact cut out a honeycomb plug to shape bond the top and the botttom then sand it down to level remove all the dust and then bond the patch to the surface. |

the strands are called rouings and then weaved into warps and wefts, the strength is in warps and what left is the weft. uni-directional cloth were all the fibers are running in the same direction bi-directional cloth were they have the same strength running in both direction, plain weave is woven one under and one over,used on flat surfaces also there is a twill weave that has 2 over and 1 under used in curved areas |
