Oral solution 0.5 mg/5 mL, and also Intensol: 1mg/ml
For Daytime anxiety,for sleep, for panic attack
• Driving, alcohol warnings, abuse potential
• Metabolized to an inactive metabolite
• Elderly or debilitated patients: 0.25 mg, given 2 or 3 times a day. Gradually increase if needed and tolerated.
• Xanax XR tablets: 0.5, 1, 2, 3 mg
• Indicated for the treatment of panic disorder
• Taken once daily, preferable in the morning.
• They should be taken intact; they should not be chewed, crushed, or broken
• Treatment initiated with 0.5 or 1 mg once daily. Depending on response, the dose may be increased at intervals of 3 to 4 days in increments of no more than 1 mg/day
• Because of the danger of withdrawal, abrupt discontinuation should be avoided
• Dose reduction: it is suggested that the daily dosage be decreased by no more than 0.5 mg every three days. Some patients may require an even slower dosage reduction.
