When there is no usable VAs in the eye, we use a balance lens first cosmesis to ensure equal spec mag, TCA, power rings. The optom may use if wants to suppress an eye, a monocular VA maybe better than binocular VA.

Give 2 types of balance lens

Sph +1/2 cyl or identical Rx in other eye ( high astigmatism)

According to which BS any Rx over +-5.00D at dispense or refraction must have BVD

BS EN 21987

By increasing BVD it reduces

Field of view

State the measurements a DO needs to dispense a high powered lens

Take + record BVD, vertical heights compensated for panto( every 2° lower by 1mm ), panto, monocular PD, measure old specs.
