How is the PIP effect different from other effects we worked on so far such as the resize effect?
The PIP effect is layer effect, allowing you to create multilayer composites from clips on multiple video tracks. Resize is a single layer effect that is not designed for building mulitlayer composites.
Why should you crop blanking out of the frame
Blanking is not designed to be seen. The black edges should not be part of an image used in a multilayer composite.
How else can cropping be used?
To create an image with different aspect ratio such as wide bar on an image taller that it is wide.
Why are keyframes required at the beginning and and end of an animation?
The first keyframe establishes the start of the move. while the second established the end. Without these two keyframes, the animation would not occur.
What does Reverse animation parameter do?
It reverses the order of the keyframes in an effect so that any animation plays backwards. For example if a PIP effect were animated to fly from right to left, reversing would make it fly from left to right.
What key must you hold down on the keyboard to make sure that a segment move only moves a clip vertically and does not shift a position in time?
CTRL +SHIFT
If you add a key frame via the record monitor, what parameters are keyframed?
key frames are added to all parameters.
Why might you want to use Remove redundant keyframes command?
This command removes unnecessary keyframes and makes further keyframe manipulation easier.
What happens to the animation if you switch keyframes from linear to spline interpolation?
An ease in/out is added to every keyframe making the motion smoother and more natural.
How does nest of effects like PIP differ from those of other effects?
PIP is a two input effect and has both fore ground both of these are visible within the nest.
What can you change within a title nest?
You can change the fill for the title by editing a different clip into V2.
When should you use nest rather than layer?
Nest when you want to add an element to another element or modify that element.
When should you use layer rather than nest?
Layer when you want to add another element to a multilayer effect design.
What is the Pan and scan effect used for?
To change the aspect ratio of the sequence.
