What is metabolism?
The chemical reactions that take place in cells.
What is metabolic rate?
The speed at which the chemical reactions that take place in cells proceed.
Why does exercise increase the body's need for energy?
Exercise involves movement. Movement occurs when muscles contract and muscle contraction needs energy.
Why does having more muscle and less fat lead to a higher metabolic rate?
Fat cells that store fat are inactive and use little energy. Muscle cells are much more active and need alot more energy provided by respiration.
What is a balanced diet?
it contains the right amount of different foods and the right amount of energy to maintain good health.

2. The liver makes it from saturated fat that is eaten.
