Accents on words with long vowel in last syllable
Must be on last TWO syllables
Noun accent rules

- Accent tries to stay PERSISTENT- If there is an acute accent on last syllable, it changes to circumflex with the genitive (οῦ) and dative (ῷ) endings- Genitive and dative endings can also force the accent toward the end, since they add a long last syllable, which means that the accent must be on one of the last two syllables (eg: ὁ ἄνθροπος will have the accent move from first to second syllable in genitive and dative cases)

Verb accent rules
- Verb accents are RECESSIVE (try to move to the front)- Add ending BEFORE contraction to determine accent position- Adding an -ει is adding a LONG last vowel, so will force the accent to the last syllable - will be a CIRCUMFLEX (e.g. φιλεῖ)- Adding an -ε is SHORT, so the accent can move/stay forward in verb (e.g. φίλει)
