symptoms suggestive of asthma

• Worse at night or early am • Post viral, exercise, allergen exposure • In young post playing/laughing • Improve w/ ICS or bronchodilators • Family hx, signs of atopy |

1. FEV1/FVC <0.75-0.8 + >=12% improvement w/ Ventolin (min 200ml)
2. PEF 60L/min (min >=20%) improvement post Ventolin 3. diurnal variation > 8% based on two readings, or >20% on multiple readings |

Challenge tests (positive results)
|
1. methacoline challenge < 4mg/mL is diagnostics 4-16 is borderline, >16 is negative
2. exercise challenge >=10-15% decrease in FEV1 post exercise |

1. Daytime symptoms (N=<4d/wk)
