Soraya rings later that night to tell Amir that Sohrab can get a humanitarian visa so he wont have to stay in an orphanage. Amir goes to tell Sohrab and the chapter ends with him screaming as an ambulance arrives. |

What are the main events of chapter 25? (The last chapter) |
Throughout the chapter we get glimpses into what happened to Sohrab that add up to attempted suicide. Amir creates a makeshift prayer rug in the hospital and is then told that Sohrab is alive. Sohrab is very vacant and when they return to America he refuses to speak. Amir takes Sohrab, Soraya and Khala Jamila to an Afghan new year's celebration where Amir runs a kite for Sohrab. Sohrab smiles and Amir describes it as 'the first flake melting.'
