Weak national government, why?

Articles of Confederation created a weak government because of the fear of monarchy they did not want an executive position in the government.

Taxation rights?

9 States had to approve measures dealing with imposing tariffs. Had no National courts and no power to enforce or Levy taxes.

Shay's Rebellion, roll and shifting away from this thought process

After Shays Rebellion the nation felt like it was tottering. The time had come to empower the national government to bring social order and economic stability

Virginia Plan

Called for a supreme legislative, executive, and judicial Larry. I propose a new Congress divided into two houses. Lower house chosen by voters, Upper House of senators by state legislators

Jersey Plan

Sought to keep the existing equal representation of the states. Gave congress the power to collect taxes and regulate commerce. And also name a chief executive and Supreme Court.

They did not believe in the little people. They were rich and wealthy and were most likely to be voted in to politics

Why Were anti-federalists scared regarding a strong central government?

They feared the government could turn tyrannical. Are worried about lack of protection without a Bill of Rights.

The Bill of Rights consists of the most important rights to the citizens of a country. The purpose is to protect those rights against infringement from public officials and private citizens.
