Help RLJ Eliminate Payday LoansAs I was reading updates from my Google alerts, I finally ran into some sanity involving payday loans that I just had to share with everyone. We all need to get behind Robert L. Johnson and help RLJ eliminate payday loans! Who is RLJ? RLJ is Robert L. Johnson, founder and chairman of the board of RLJ Companies. His companies have interests in just about every phase of business, including the hotel industry, insurance industry, automotive dealerships, private equity, asset management, sports and entertainment, video lottery, financial services, real estate and more. To say this gentleman holds some influence in the business world would be putting it mildly. What did he do? RLJ has made an announcement that he will be starting and promoting the end of payday loans as we know it. He is starting a drive to promote low interest short term loans to help the people who normally would go take out payday loans for emergency cash. He is calling out to elected officials, minority groups, public interest groups, and anyone else that will get behind him and support this movement. While he knows that people who are in need of these kinds of loans are high risk, there has got to be alternatives to these high interest payday loans that are dominating this market. Creating a low interest option for these people can do nothing short of change the lives and living conditions of millions of americans who are presently making the payday industry rich. Mr. Johnson is calling this his education awareness campaign that pushes transparent and responsible options in lending. It is about time! Those of you who have been following me know I have been ranting on about changing this industry on a daily basis, and to see someone of this influence speaking out and talking some real sensible changes does nothing but give me real hope that just maybe we can make a difference. I know I will be keeping my ears and eyes open for more on what this gentleman has in mind and I am willing to back him in any way I can to help make this a reality. Spread the word Until we actually can get this kind of change initiated, I will still be pointing people who are buried in payday loan debt in the direction of consolidation options. If you are one of the many who are looking for a way out of payday loan debt, get hold of a payday loan consolidation company and see what kinds of options you really have to eliminate this debt! After reading the latest Pew Charitable Trust Study, I am even more stoked at backing Mr. Johnson, how about you? Are you ready to help eliminate payday loans? Please feel free to share this article and leave any questions and comments below!
