What is the 'plastic' stage of clay?
|
Plastic clay, is clay that is malleable and ready to work with.
Malleable is: Able to be hammered or pressed permanently out of shape without breaking or cracking. Easily influenced; pliable. |

Describe the characteristics of clay in 'leatherhard' stage.

Leatherhard clay, is clay that is partly dry, but is still soft enough to incise or paint with slip.

Describe the charicteristics of Bisque firing.

Bisque firing is the first firing process in ceramics. The temperature of the kiln is usually 1000C.

Glaze firing is the second firing of a clay object usually at 1160C (but can be anywhere between 1100C and 1200C, the latter being stoneware temperature)
