soap attitudes of US and England Broken Record was a motion censored thing with a turntable. -Pure was a malasses on a door that would drip onto soap. You see soap exploding through the peephole - She microwaved bars of soap and made them explode. She was inspired to make this because she got her mouth washed out with soap by her parents. The soap marketed to men and women came out different in the microwave. -Quasi Lapis She explored a series of photographs where she would have someone pose and turn slightly behind black velvet. With these pics she would make an animation and had these pics reflected onto a trunk? She called this SPIN !!! She made stencils of powdered sugar and words that made poems |

examines contemporary issues related to violence, memory, and the socio political construction of identity. The notion of pain also plays a prevalent role throughout her photography. One of her early pieces was named Under the Black Sun which was inspired by street photography. It takes pictures with a camera directly on photographic paper.
Bulletproof was also an early piece. She would photograph garmets (clothes) and they seem like innocent pieces of clothing but they really are bulletproof. Prison knives chisels daggers are scattered and she took pics of these. In her piece named Lost Steps, there are images of objects found in the archive of the corpus in Peru. In her piece named The Last Things, there are things related to a mental asylum and to objects such as a leather ball used in a mental asylum. |
