Nurse Implications: Monitor neonate for resp depression and hyporeflexia; mom's reflexes and monitor for resp depression

Use: prevents resp distress syndrome in newborns
Main Side Effects: Fluid retention and HTN
Nurse Implications: May cause hyperglycemia and hypokalemia; monitor for rales and crackles
