Why are flowers important to the plant?
They help the plants to reproduce after their kind. Reproductive cells in the flowers unite to form embryos. These embryos are located within the seeds, which are located in the fruit.
Why are leaves important to the plant?
Most of the plant's food is made in the leaves through photosynthesis.
Why are the stems important to the plant?
They hold up the leaves and the flowers and transport substances and stores food.
Why are the roots important to the plant?
It anchors the plant to the soil, absorbs water and minerals, and stores food. Sometimes they spread out to make new plants.

The study of plants.

All the food eaten by man comes directly or indirectly from green plants.
What is an angiosperm?
They are flowering seed plants. About half of the plants known to man are this kind.
What are composite angiosperms?
One of the largest families of angiosperms. They are also called the sunflower family, Examples are aster, goldenrod, daisy, dandelion, and sunflower. They resemble one flower but each is in a cluster of many separate flowers referred to as a head.
What are mint angiosperms?
They are plants which often have a square stem ad are often very aromatic. Examples are peppermint, spearmint, oregano basil, sage, lavender, marjoram. rosemary, thyme, all of which can be used in cooking. Coleus and salvia can be used in landscaping.
What is the parsley family of angiosperms?
Plants which have flowers which are typically extremely complex in their design. Examples are Queen Anne's Lace, carrot, celery, parsley, dill. Some poisonous plants are poison hemlock and water hemlock.
What is the rose family of angiosperms?
This family includes the plants with showy flowers and thorny stems known as garden roses. It includes the wild roses, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Also a number of fruit trees belong to this group like apple, apricot. cherry.

These plants have pod-like fruit. Examples are English peas, beans of all kinds, peanuts, and lentils provide us with protein.

They are diverse with surprising members. Examples of this family are day lilies, tulip, trillium, hyacinth, aloe vera, yucca and Spanish bayonet.
