EFFECT: increase SVR, increase contractility, Reflex bradycardia, thachyarrythmias, HTN, Headache, Decrease cardiac output.

Dopamine
DOSE: (effect dependent)
2-10 mcg/kg/min = Beta 1 agonist,
10+ mcg/kg/min= Alpha 1 agonist
USE:AntiHYPOtesive
MECHANISM: (dose dependent)( 2mcg/kg/min beta 1 agonist): = contractility, increased SA rate and enhanced impulse conduction in the heart. (10+ mcg/kg/min ) Vasoconstriction, potentially angerously so. (Dopamine is a Norepi precursor)
EFFECT: (10+) Increase renal output, Vasoconstriction, tachycardia, Headache, Hypertension
ELIMINATION: urine B 1/2 ~12 hours
DURATION: 10 minutes
Dobutamine
DOSE:2-20 mcg/kg/min
USE:inotropic support of heart
MECHANISM:
EFFECT: increase stroke volume without increasing heart rate.
ELIMINATION: Hepatic catechol metabolism, renal elimination
