What is the structure of an intervertbral disc?
Annulous fibrous surrounding a gel like center called the nucleus which is 90% water.
What is the role of the annulous fibrous and the nucleus?
The annulous fibrous provies the framwork of the joint and it keeps the vertebral discs together. The nucleus acts a shock absorber and keeps the dics apart so that they don't rub against each other.
