INDICATIONS (AMIODARONE)
|
1. Pulseless VT and ventricular fibrillation
2. Polymorphic ventricular tachycardia 3. SVT refractory to adenosine 4. Wide complex tachycardia of unknown etiology |

CONTRAINDICATIONS (AMIODARONE)
|
1. Cardiogenic shock
2. Serve sinus node dysfuction indicated by brady cardic condition (sinus bradycardia and 2nd & 3rd degree heart blocks) 3. Symptomatic bradycardia 4. Allergy to medication |

ADULT DOSAGE-
CARDIAC ARREST(CORDARONE) |
1st Dose: 300mg
2nd Dose: 150 mg MAXIMUM CUMULATIVE OF 2.2g/24hr |

ADULT DOSAGE-
WIDE COMPLEX STABLE TACHYCARDIA (CORDARONE) |
150 mg IV push over 10 minutes (15mg/min) repeat as needed to maximum dose of 2.2g/24hr

SLOW INFUSION (CORDARONE) |
360mg IV push over 6 hours (1mg/min) or mix 100 mg in 100ml normal saline, infuse at 1mg/min (60 gtts/min)

SIDE EFFECTS
(AMIODARONE) |
1. Monitor ECG
2. hypotension, possibly prolonged following conversion from VF 3. Negative inotropic and chrontropic 4. Increased ventricular beats 5. Prolong PR interval, QRS complex and QT interval 6. Be alert for signs of pumonary toxicity (dyspnea & cough) |
