RATIFICATION OF THE CONST
1. 19 of 13 states had to ratify the const. in order for it to go into effect
The Legislative Branch
1. consists of two houses, the senate and the house of rep.
2. most important power of congress is to make laws.
3. powers given to congress are called delegated powers.[ coin money, declare war, and regulate trade]
The Executive Branch
1. consists of the pres, vice and the cabinet.
2. pres enforces the laws, not makes them.
3. he can also make treaties and appoint judges.
4. const. doesnt say much about the president, so it was up to GW to set the standard.
The Judicial Branch
1. consists of the national court system
2. supreme court judges the constitutionality of laws
3. pres nominates judges, but the senate must approve them.
