1920 in Boston, we have a pay roll robery (armed car is robbed) 2 guards are killed. Saco and Vanzetti were in the area and had guns on them. (not illegal to carry gun) the police arret them with no evidence because they are foreign and charge them with murder. Both are anarchists and immigrants and refused to serve in WW1 the judge wont let the defender bring a wittness because he is antiimmigrant (Judge gives his own opinon og the situation before the jury decides) and they are found guilty and sentenced to death and in 1927 they are electricuted

1925 TN passes a law saying it is illegal to teach evolution ( in the bible belt of america), ACLU offered to help any arrested teachers, John Scopes who tought in Dayton, Tn was arrested for teaching evolution. Scopes attorney was Clarence Darrow and prosecuting was William Jenniness Bryan. Clarence was winning but the jeory found him guilty because they were for creatism and fined him 100 dollars. people fight outside courthouse they were carrying monkeys and signs saying "Read Bible", later it as overturned by an appeal court and the law is overturned
