British found 70 militiamen waiting in Lexington, The British commander demanded the militiamen drop their muskets. The militiamen refused. Somebody fired the first shot- “shot heard round the world”. Battle breaks out- 8 colonists are killed and the colonists retreat. The British march to Concord.

When the British arrive in Concord what did they realize?
