Donway Splint

Lower limb splint/ pneumatic tractuion device
Sole of foot applied to a solid metal plate then strapped to it via a stirrup bicycle pump mechanism extends the splint to provide traction need good anaglesic and femoral nerve block |

Adv:
- lighter, moist resistant, stronger, less messy, more radiolucent than plaster Disadv: - not water proof, keep in airtight enviroment, increase pressure under cast from initial post fracture swelling, more expensive |
