b. Greater palatine artery: emerges from the greater palatine foramen
and courses anteriorly on the hard palate with the greater palatine
nerve; in contrast to the greater palatine nerve, however, the greater
palatine artery continues forward, beyond the canine, through the
incisive fossa and incisive canal, to supply the anteroinferior part of
the nasal septum
