What cancers is tumour lysis syndrome associated with? What can precipitate it? Why is it caused? |
High grade lymphoma's and leukaemia's Starting combination therapy can precipitate this Caused by breakdown of tumour cells, can lead to hyperkalaemia and high phosphate levels |

What and when do you give prophylaxis for Tumour lysis syndrome? |
Give Allopurinol. Give it prior to chemotherapy. |

It affects the monoamine neurotransmitter. And thus blocks the uptake of dopamine (blocks the dopamine transporter protein), noradrenaline and serotonin. |
