-due to inability of blood to drain from penis


-can lead to ED (fibrosis) (also may be caused by ED meds)

TX IMMEDIATELY !!



-repeat ejaculation, physical activity


-oral terbutaline or salbutamol (give early)


-drain blood

What is Peyronie's disease?



what is it associated with?

abnormal curvature during erection d/t fibrosis of tunic of corpa (may result from trauma)



assoc. w Dupuytren/s contracture of the hand*

Peyronie's tx

-none if no pain or sexual dysfunction (benign cond)


-surgical excision & graft (may lead to ED, only do if causing sexual dysfunction)

Prostate cancer is only tx if pt has a life expectancy > 5-10 yrs



tx options

-surgical remove (can cause incontinence & ED)


-intersistial brachytherapy (radiation seeds)


-cryoablation (freezing prostate)


-hormone (teststerone) removal (dec growth)


-external beam radiation



(if you choose to do external radiation you cannot surgically excise after)

Testicular cancer is not very common. Who might it occur in?

young caucasion males (20-40)



w abnormal testicle development, an undescended testicle, or a family hx


Young male comes in w testicular swelling & a mass in his testicle. He noticed mass 2 wks ago and it has been increasing daily in size.

testicular cancer


-dx w/ testicular exam & ultrasound


-may have inc beta-hCG & AFP



tx: inguinal incision & surgical removal or entire testicle & cord (orchiectomy)

Penile cancer is also rare. Who is it most likely to occur in?
