What is value time?
The amout of time spent doing useful work e.g. activity time or process time

Value time/ Cycle time
or
time actually spent doing useful work / ovrall cycle time
For un-reengineered processes, what is the ration of value time to elapsed time?
0.03
Only 3% of the total elapsed time in a process is spent doing useful work so cycle time ration is <= 3%
What other metrics can be measured for a workflow?
Cycle time
Value time
cost for eac step
Quality of each step
