DURAL PARTITIONS

FALX CEREBRI
-what structures does it attach to? (4)
2. Dural partitions

a. Falx cerebri: midline, sickle-shaped partition between the cerebral
hemispheres; attaches to the crista galli, frontal crest, sulcus for the
superior sagittal sinus, and superior surface ofthe tentorium cerebelli
TENTORIUM CEREBELLI

-what is attached to?

-separates?
2. Dural partitions

b. Tentorium cerebelli

1. Tentlike partition attaching to the suici for the transverse sinuses,
sulci for the superior petrosal sinuses, posterior clinoid processes,
and anterior clinoid processes; its U-shaped, anterior free edge
forms the tentorial notch and, with the dorsum sellae, transmits

2. Separates the cerebrum from the cerebellum
FALX CEREBELLI

-what is it attached to?
2. Dural partitions

c. Falx cerebelli: small, midline, sickle-shaped partition between the cer-
ebellar hemispheres; attaches to the inferior surface ofthe tentorium
cerebelli and to the internal occipital crest
DIAPHRAGMA SELLAE

WHAT IS IT
-forms the roof for?
-except for?
d. Diaphragma sellae: horizontal partition attaching to the anterior and
posterior clinoid processes; forms a roof for the hypophyseal fossa, except for a central aperture which transmits the pituitary stalk
