describe the systoms and treatment for shock
acant or lackluster eyes shallow or irregular breathing, cold pale skin nausea and weak or absent pulse. treatment is to lay the victim down with the feet elevated 6-12 inches. cover them to maitain body heat. keep calm
1st degree burns
mildest producing redness increase warmth, tenderness and mild pain
2ed degree burns
red and blistered skin, sever pain
3rd degree burns
destroyed tissue, skin and bone in sever cases. sever pain may be absent due to nerve endings
heat exhaustion
skin is cool moist and clammy and the pupils dilated, normal or subnormal body temperature. usually the victum is sweating profusely. movy the victim to a cool or air condition area loosen clothing apply cool wet cloths to the head, groin, and ankles. do not let the victim become chilled
heat stroke
hot and/or dry skin uneven pupil dilation and a weak rapid pulse. reduce the heat immediately by dousing body with cold water. apply wet cold towels to the body and move the victim to the coolest possible place. ,aintain open air way.
open fracture
one in which there is an open wound in the tissue or skin. the bone may be protruding thru the skin
close fracture
one that is entirely internal the bone is broken but there is no break in the skin

-you must not touch the victims body wire or any other object that may be conected electricity. look for the power source and disconnect
-perform first aid/cpr and get to medical
describe the methods for clearing an obstructed airway
clea their mouth of any food particals foreign objects or loose dentures, stand behind the victim and wrap arms around the victims waist. grasp your wrist and place the thumb side of yourfist against the victums abumen above the naval and just below the rib cage. give 4 quick upward thrust to the victim
hypothermia
cooling of the whole body caused by exposure to low or rapidly falling temperature, cold moisture, snow or ice. victim may appear pale and unconsious and may appear dead. breathing slow and shallow, pulse faint of even undetable. the body tissues feel simi-rigid and arms and legs may feel stiff
superficial frostbite
icy crystals forming in the upper skin layers after exposure to a temperature of 32 degrees or lower
deep frostbite
ice crystals forming in the deeper tissues after exposure to a temperature of 32 degrees or lower. get the victim indoors rewarm them by placing them in warm water or with hot water bottles
