What are the biotic factors in the environment? Give examples.
All the living organisms in the environment (like people and dogs) and their activities such as disease, parasitism, predation, etc.
What are abiotic factors in the environment? Give examples
All the non-living factors in the environment e.g. soil, weather, amount of water, temperature of the water, etc.
What determines whether or not organisms are members of the same species?
When they mate, members of the same species will produce fertile offspring; nonmembers will produce sterile offspring.
What does the term organism mean? Give examples.
Any living thing. Examples: Name anything alive. A dog, a tree, a worm, a person, a bacterium, etc..

A chart of who eats whom and a chart that shows the flow of energy.
What is a food web?
A number of interconnecting food chains.
What is an autotroph? Give examples.
Organisms that can make their own food through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis e.g. plants, algae, phytoplankton, cyanobacteria, etc.
