calculating frequency of an allele
f(A) = number of alleles of that kind/ the total number of alleles

1000 people means 2000 alleles. Look at 100 carriers and 5 diseased of recessive. then a = 100 + 5(2) = 110. f(a) = 110/2000 = decimal value
Hardy weinberg first property: calculating genotypes present
AA Aa and aa are represented
(p + q)^2 = p^2 +2pq + q^2 = 1
p being AA pq Aa q aa.
A = p so 1-p = q.
HW second property: genotypes over time
p^2 : 2pq : q^2 will remain constant over generations
HW third property: conditions
population large
random mating
small mutation rate
all genotypes are equally fit
no immigration of ppl with different allelic frequencies
