It all began with a simple phone call one night after dinner. “Steve,” my father hollered up the stairs, “it’s for you. It’s Lisa, and she sounds upset.” As I came downstairs to pick up the phone, I was not happy. I was tired and had looked forward to a nice quiet evening at home, not another stupid adventure with Lisa.
Thirty minutes later, however, Lisa’s silver Mustang convertible swung into our driveway, and Lisa was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. Grabbing my coat from the couch, I walked out my front door with all the enthusiasm of a man going to stand before a firing squad. I pull open the Mustang’s door and dropped myself into its plush bucket seat like a sack of potatoes. Lisa gave me the Watch-How-You-Treat-My-Car

It’s no big deal. Honest.” I nodded as if I understood, but really just wanted her to stop talking like that. The car continues down the road and Lisa continues to insult me with every clever word she can get out of her mouth. Her lips were rather chapped. I just sat there and watched the side streets slowly turn into the interstate. Had Lisa finally lost her mind? Was I in danger? As she continued to explain to me the odd occupations of her family members, I started to seriously consider how I might be able to get out of her car and back to the safety of my couch. Before I could begin to formulate a plan, Lisa skewed the Mustang to a stop in a deserted scenic overlook. Lisa rushes outside to her dead grandfather, who was listening to Madonna in the car. "The goldfish is safe and inside" Lisa tells him, while panting from running. So apparently all that mattered was this goldish was kept alive. I asked why but all it does is prevent some sort of zombie apocalypse I think, but I dozed in and out of the conversation because of how tired and bored I was, but at least the goldfish is safe.
