Wrinkle In Time

My novel I read is called “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’engle. This story is about a weird, awkward, lonely girl in a small town seeking for answers of her lost father and a lost for hope and love. Megan Murry, her little brother Charles Wallace, and her friend Calvin search many areas. But can’t seem to come to a conclusion. Megan, Charles and Calvin go through many obstacles to save and collect her father from an evil dimension. In the beginning A character Mrs. Whatsit was a weird character by reading Megan’s mind and showing her the future. Mrs. Whatsit also had friends named Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. They explained to Megan and her posse That when you enter “The dark thing” it’s very hard to overcome. Up next the “tesseract” gets presented. …show more content…
One leading up to the main rising action was when Mrs. Whatsit and her friends explain to all the kids the journey through the tesseract and how dangerous it can be. They all explain that language is going to be a very key going through time. Some planets won’t even know what they are and what they are doing. Another rising action moment leading to the climax was when “It” controls Charles Wallace’s mind in Camazots. In the novel Megan states “she felt numb’, it was dark and the streets were deserted. The setting plays a big because it sets the gloomy mood in the disastrous city. “Its” Mind set is full of evil and hatred, his goal is to destroy, dictate anything that is less than him in his own dimension. Charles Wallace’s whole personality changes, Megan and Calvin notice the difference immediately. Calvin tries to use a certain kind of communication to break what the Man in red eyes(IT) has put on to Charles. Charles is under complete control and is saying things to Megan that hit her heart personally. One example is “Mrs. Whatsit hates you”. It is saying these things dictating Charles completely. Megan eventually finds her father in the spooky, gloomy planet of Camazots. The father was found as a prisoner of the man with the red eyes(It). After going through all the stress trying to find the father, Megan must come up with a solution to save her little brother from the mind controlling of It. Megan later realizes she cannot leave her brother behind. The climax of the story was Megan found Its weakness, love. Megan Loves Charles and that’s something nobody can take away from her. In the novel, it states “If she could give love to IT perhaps it would shrivel up” Megan thought she was incapable of doing such a thing. Megan repeatedly said she LOVES Charles.
