Wrestling Persuasive Speech

Improved Essays
Wrestling is not just a sport of brawn and strength, the sport digs deep into mind and technique can simulate muscles on even the scrawniest of combatants.

It’s hard not to get romantic about wrestling.

When you’re standing head to head with a gladiator across from you your mind takes a break and lets your body take over. A human autopilot. A barbaric brawl turns to a symphony, fighters turn to graceful swans, and hard work turns to results. That’s wrestling. More than just a feat of strength. You stand eye to eye with a behemoth knowing that you are superior. If your mind is betting against you, you will lose. Every time you sink your first step into the mat you are the baddest man on the damn

Rubin and Shapiro’s inspiring documentary, Murderball, associates with the notion of “masculinity” as expressed in Cynthia Barounis’ “Crippling Heterosexuality” by zeroing in on the combative habits of a quad rugby player, the essence of the sport, and the relationships of the players with their significant others. Murderball illustrates the game previously known as “Murderball,” now referred to as wheel chair rugby, and the experiences of Team U.S.A. and Team Canada to the 2004 Paralympics. It can be discussed that the reason for creating this documentary was to reveal the amount of rivalry that occurs between people with disabilities or how their lives have been changed from having to be in a wheelchair. As we watch the film, the continued theme of the movie is that if you believe in…

On 21 February 2016 during the morning sermon’s invitation process, Skip Blake, bolted to the pulpit at the College Hill Church of Christ, Hillsboro, Texas and manifested that Brother Marco Arroyo, minister, was lying during his sermon. According to Matthew 18:15-17, the above action by Skip Blake is not in compliance with New Testament doctrine. He had no Biblical right to openly correct anyone without complying with verses 15 and 16 first, as well as not having the right to interrupt a worship service for the sake of what he wanted to do (especially in a congregation that he is not an elder in). Furthermore and sadly, the encouragement to anyone wanting to respond to the invitation last Sunday morning, i.e. asking for prayers and/or to be…

First of all, Devilyn explains that competition causes issues in schools when it comes to contests and grades. In the article he explains, “For every state winner, there are thousands of participants in the local schools who have memorized lists of words in order to learn the lesson that education is really a mean-spirited process, that humilliation is the fruit of their effort, and that only one winner will celebrate a triumph whose satisfaction is measured by the suffering of others, not by any intrinsic worth of learning.” This is convincing because he is trying to explain that the purpose of competition that are demonstrated through learning academics tends to dishearten learners and eventually destroys the aspect of learning. Instead of focusing on the essence of learning, students are more worried about winning instead.…

Every Saturday morning I get a jolt of excitement in anticipation of the forty-five minutes of wonder I know are soon to delight my senses, forty-five minutes of adventure, fear, and the devilish world of Steven Moffat. Doctor Who is my all time favorite TV show, a show that follows the exploits of the time travelling Doctor and his intrepid companions across the universe. The cleverest thing about this show is, of course, the time travelling part, for it acts as an easy method for the writers to put the main characters in any number of improbable situations. One week could have our heroes in a Victorian mansion haunted by ghosts, while the next could have them trying to fix the life support system of a spaceship before the oxygen runs out.…
