DOI: 12/27/2011. The patient is a 50-year-old female home attendant who sustained a work-related injury to her left arm, bilateral knees, left rib, and back, when she tripped and fell on a broken sidewalk while walking with her client. She had a left shoulder arthroscopic surgery on 4/30/2015. Per OMNI, she appears to have attended at least 16 PT visits from 5/14/15 to 6/29/15.
Based on the latest medical report dated 12/16/15, the patient complains of left shoulder pain. She has been diagnosed with a deep venous thrombosis of the left lower extremity which requires anticoagulation. Due to this, she is uncertain if she can take oral anti-inflammatory medication and has stopped her oral Diclofenac. She reports that her left shoulder continues

    While reviewing possible articles for this assignment, I found some very interesting statistics that surprised myself, and my husband, who is also a paramedic. Normally you would think the typical work related injuries among EMTs and paramedics to be muscular or tendon related, as well as neck, back, wrist and knee related due to heavy lifting and moving. And yes of course, we did find these injuries, but there were more important issue that have been brought to light.
