Nigeria is known for the fish market and has great economic potential. I think the U.S should promote women’s rights in developing nations because education can bring economic growth. A study was done in Nigeria to investigate and show how educating women can increase the value of their fish business(Babalola). Fish is an important protein in diets making the demand for it high. It’s mostly higher in Nigeria than other Western African countries due to where they are located. But they still can 't meet the domestic demand. In the study 92 women fish marketers were the subjects(Babalola). Fifty seven percent had a primary education (equivalent to elementary in US). Eighty three percent were married. In my geography class we learned about some very scary statistics. Ninety six percent of the world’s 6,000 languages are spoken by four percent of the world’s population(Kuby). Also, ninety percent of the world’s languages are not found on the internet(Kuby). Fifty percent of the world’s 6,000 languages are endangered to be extinct(Kuby). The scariest statistic of them all is one language on average disappears every two weeks(Kuby). Dialects are those that are more likely to be extinct because previous generations are forgetting or not making it a priority to teach the next generations. But that doesn 't necessarily mean that we eat from these restaurants or purchase these named brand products all the time. By preserving local foods, history and customs it makes traveling to these countries or states more appealing. For instance when I go to Puerto Rico I’m not thinking of eating McDonalds there. But I am thinking of all the typical foods that they consume. Also, when I go to Guatemala I’m not thinking of spending my time on my phone. or social networks like I would do back in the states. I am thinking of what new city or monuments I want to go visit on my trip. These examples can also apply to the states as well. You wouldn 't go to New York and buy Wendy’s. It wouldn 't be a successful trip without eating thin
