Women Are Human Too; NOT Objects After years of women being objectified there is no way of going back. For the longest time women have been seen as objects and because of that men do not know where to stop. Women are used for advertising to get men’s attention and that causes so many other problems; as explained in the article “Two Ways a Women Can Get Hurt” by Jean Kilbourne. In the article “Do Real Women Have Curves?”-Paradoxical body image among Latinas in New York city; Anahi Viladrich, Ming-Chin Yeh, Nancy Bruning and Rachael Weiss goes over how these expectation of women affects them physically and mentally. Women are always finding ways to make their selves more beautiful rather it be weight loss or the newest makeup trends. In the last article that I’m getting my information from is “From Girls’ Bodies, Girls’ Selves: Body Image, Identity, and Sexuality” by Elline Lipkin she explains the history of girls and women. Women are trying to live up to the standards that society is setting for them and it has always been like that throughout history. Before getting into more details about women I will go over some key terms that I will use throughout my essay.
