The wolves are one of the biggest decrease in deer population because in our harsh and extremely long winters the deer cannot find as much food as they do in the summer and fall months, the wolves take advantage of the deer that are weaker and cannot find as much food by chasing them down and killing them. The deer population is affected by wolves more because there is not a whole lot of bigger food sources for the wolves to eat so they pretty much stick with they're instincts and kill the deer to survive, the whitetail deer makes up over 50% of the wolves diet.
