As neighbors, police and doctors arrived at the scene, my step mother's body was discovered in the upstairs guest bedroom. I was later on arrested for the murder of my parents. Considering I was a “weaker” sex and female murderers were hardly heard of, the trial—and subsequent acquittal—made me a media sensation. Officially, the case remains unsolved, but I very well could have taken an ax and ended my parents’ lives on that summer day and no one would truly know. Some of the evidence against me was that a neighbor testified to supposedly seeing me burn a blue dress in the kitchen stove, claiming it was covered with paint. She also testified to seeing me in a blue dress the morning of the murder. I, of course, had a powerful defense team that included former Massachusetts Governor George Robinson. Even though there was compelling circumstantial evidence against me, with the murder weapon successfully challenged, the prosecution had no physical evidence. The defense was able to cast doubt on all of the prosecution's case. Too bad they never found me guilty. I was shamed and ridiculed by society till my death on June 1,
