Wind-Generated Energy Disadvantages

McGrath Wind Farm of Excellence, we visited on 22 July, 2015, the role of the facility makes electricity from wind. The facility is located in 40 kilometers south of Lethbridge, Alberta. Then, this company established it in 1962, but the facility started in 2004. The wind-generated electricity is an electricity generating system using a wind-force. The wind power energy is accepted as the maintenance of natural environments, the energy source that it can secure of the energy security as one of the renewable energy, and wind-power plant and a wind-generated electricity device are built by many grounds. I saw it, and sail is used for the promotion of the ship for pumping and irrigation powder more a pumping windmill the windmill such as the …show more content…
It include littleness of the environmental load, consumption reduction of the fossil fuel, energy security, industrial development, job creation mainly. Then, there is the reduction effect of greenhouse gas discharges such as carbon dioxide. Also, the wind-generated electricity can anticipate improvement of the energy self-sufficiency ratio. If wind blows, generation is possible anytime including the night. However, the wind-generated electricity has some disadvantages. There is a problem of instability, uncertainty of the output electricity and adverse effects to neighboring environment to a master, and the choice of the setting place becomes particularly important. Then, it breaks down by thunderbolts and may cause the accident. Also, the wind-generated electricity may have a big influence on ecological system because sometimes a bird is rolled up in a blade and may be killed or injured. In addition, it has effect to living environment because it makes noise. Therefore, it is difficult to install the generator near a house. As a result, the place that is limited to the wind-power …show more content…
Then, it changes the direction of the rotor to the direction of the wind and go the control to brake it, and to completely stop a turn automatically when the burden to the blade including a typhoon and the storm is too strong and is dangerous. Also, the wind-generated electricity watches the state of the windmill with a phone line from the PC of the distant place, so coping that is immediate when abnormality occurs is possible because people can perform the control such as start, the stop of the windmill even if people do not go to the field. As a result, the wind-generated electricity can say that it is useful technology for

This report will explain and present the advantages and disadvantages of the wind farm in Nant y Moch which is in Mid Wales. Scottish and Southern Energy Renewable Company SSE has been planning to establish a wind farm in Nant y Moch in 2005, Nevertheless this project is still controversial and not completely accepted by some organizations and local people due to the negative effects that may be caused by wind turbines. The biggest and magnificent benefit from wind turbines is to generate adequate electricity to local people who are living near wind farm and to support British economy dramatically.…

There are 2 types of wind turbines, a drag type which has a high torque but slow turning speed and a lift type which, because of the blade design, creates a lot of air pressure and is spun much faster. Because of the lift type being able to spin faster, they are more often used for creating large amounts of energy at a time. Wind turbines are similar to coal power because as the wind rotates the blade, the axle of the blade rotates a generator similar to the one inside of the coal plant. The blades rotate a large magnet in the center of copper wires and the current is harnessed from it. The mechanical energy is changed to electrical and then goes on the same sort of path that the coal plant does, into a transformer to up the voltage and finally back down when reaching a house or neighborhood, however this time with no…

Wind Power Advantages and Disadvantages Wind power is obtained by the wind in our atmosphere and then it’s converted into mechanical energy followed by electricity. Basically, wind is free and wind turbines. In addition, wind power does not release pollutants and greenhouse gases into the environment and it only requires a small amount of land. The first disadvantage is, that the wind is not continuous and may not produce electricity.…

This wind power got converted into mechanical power, which used to produce Electricity. “People started using wind power centuries ago with windmills, which pumped water, ground grain, and did other work” (Hunter, 2011). In other words, the wind’s turbine uses the wind to generate electricity. Advantages of Alternative Energy Sources: • The main advantage of renewable sources of energy is that they are inexhaustible. This makes them sustainable and reliable now and in the future.…

On windy days, energy can be used in an increased abundance. A notable example of this case was in Spain; in 2010, Spain experienced a particularly windy year, so wind power accounted for 16.6 percent of the national net power consumption (Leung and Yang, 2012). India has also incorporated renewable wind energy resources into their economy; this action has landed them in fifth place amongst the other wind using countries. Ultimately, the countries illustrated above show that wind power is well distributed across the world; both developing and developed countries are involved in the switch to a more ‘green’…

Turbines can be housed on the shoreline as well. The production of wave energy comes with consequences. Getting your energy source from waves is only suitable for those who live close to the coast. We would not be able to get this energy to places in the city. The production of wind energy occurs when the kinetic energy of the wind turns the propellers of a wind turbine.…

Some days the wind won 't blow therefor no energy is produced .This is because as u all know that the wind doesn 't blow all the time. And for wind energy to be produced the wind has to be blowing enough to propell the blades on the turbine along enough to produce energy . This is really the best reason for why the wind energy is not taken off right now . Little maintenance and high energy outputs equals the energy of the future.…
