William Shakespeare's Early Life, Worldview, And Accomplishments

William Shakespeare is a very interesting and influential writer of plays, poems, and sonnets. His works are about the only thing that people can be certain about, but they have been able to piece together some pieces to his life. These paragraphs will thus discuss what people do know about Shakespeare’s early life, adult life, worldview, and Accomplishments. First, Shakespeare’s early life will be discussed. Not much is known about William’s childhood, however, scholars have been able to pull out some facts. Though they could find no birth records, many scholars believe William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 based on baptism records from his home town of Stratford-upon-Avon that are dated for April 26 of that same year. Scholars also know that William Shakespeare was born to John Shakespeare, a leather merchant, and Mary Arden, an heiress, and had five siblings. These siblings included his two older sisters, Joan and Judith, and his three younger brothers, Gilbert, Richard, and Edmund. The only other thing that they have been able to determine is that William Shakespeare attended the King’s New School, where he learned reading, writing, and the classics. Clearly there are countless works to choose from, but probably two of his biggest works are the plays of Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. These two plays work best to show Shakespeare’s writings as they are each from different styles in his life. While Romeo and Juliet is written as a history/comedy, Hamlet is written in the aspect of a tragedy. Though it can be difficult to see the comedy in Romeo and Juliet, many have observed his writings and noted that there are differences between his older and later works and have categorized them as such.
