William Lloyd Garrison was born in 1805 at Newburyport, Massachusetts. When William father abandoned the family in 1808 they have a hard time. William has to look for foods for his family; he has to ask other family for some food. William has to work he sold homemade candy and delivering some wood. William started working in 1818 at a newspaper job for Newburyport Herald where he develops skills set as a writer and editor he chosen this path so he can be knowledgeable when he write his own paper. William joined the Abolition movement at the age of 25. He joined with the American Colonization Society, the Society believed, in releasing the slaves. When John was five years old the family moved to northern Ohio because the area is known for anti-slavery. When John grows up he moved up northern states taking his family everywhere he goes he worked several times as a farmer and wool merchant but he wasn’t wealthy. John filed for Bankruptcy in his 40’s but shortage of money didn’t stop what he believed in. He gave land to the wanted slaves, John and his wife decided to care for black children as their own. The League of Gileadites was a society to help shelter escaped slaves in 1851. John contributed to help the slaves in the Underground Railroad. John helped numerous of family he opens up his own farm to lead the blacks by his rules. John needed fund to start an army he was going to lead. His plan was to have a war in Virginia for the slavery. John and some men invaded the federal store at the Harpers Ferry in 1859; the men were 16 whites and 5 black.
