The person that first discovered by a man named William Herschel who was born in Germany. He was using smaller telescopes to look at space and they started to annoy him so he decided to make his own which were bigger. As he was using these bigger telescopes, he noticed something that he thought was a comet. Then after Anders Johan Lexell (another astronomer) later then discovered that it had an orbit! At first they thought it was a nebula. Then once Herschel found out it was moving… he obviously questioned what it was. That’s when he realized it was a comet. Then Lexell asked why it was moving in an orbit and found out it was a planet! Discovering Uranus made Herschel extremely famous. Discovering Uranus let Herschel dig deeper into astronomy.
