Asteroid? Or Planet?
William Herschel an astronomer in the march of 1781 observed a comet coming towards the earth. With scientific mind that he had he decided to ask make some measurements to be sure that the comet truly was coming towards the earth. In His calculations he decided it was, but the comet never did actually come. The reason for this was that Herschel actually found the planet Uranus. It turns out that in his observations he was a little off so he had to go back and start asking questions and go through calculations in able to figure out what he truly he found. In his hard work of trying to find the truth, he was only able to prove that his previous hypothesis was true, that it indeed was a comet. Astronomers of today of course
