In Charles City County, VA, Harrison was born on the ninth of February 1773. He was born on his family’s plantation, Berkeley. William Henry Harrison was born into one of the leading families in Virginia at the time. His father, Benjamin Harrison signed the Declaration of independence, and was the governor of Virginia during the revolution. Harrison moved back to Ohio and spent most of his days there. William Henry Harrison was elected as the Ohio representative in the U.S. House of Representatives. Harrison served in the House for three years. After Harrison’s time in the House, he was elected as the senator for Ohio. He served as senator for three years. He resigned from the senate in 1828. Soon after his resignation, President John Quincy Adams appointed him as the ambassador of Colombia. Harrison’s time as ambassador did not go very well, as he had little knowledge on diplomacy. Because of this, Harrison often quarreled with Colombia’s ruler, Simon Bolivar, and his time there ended after only one
