Who was william durant? William Durant was very important to the history of america, if we did not have Durant america would not be the same as it is today. He improved and created many things that would change america. William durant was historically significant through motivation, preparation, and accomplishments.
Motivation
William Durant was a highly motivated engineer, and he helped change america. Durant believed in the automotive industry and believed he could make something great from it. He took a horse carriage business and though that it was boring so he pursued the automotive business.

William Durant took over the buick motor company and made it very a successful company. It became so successful that it outsells both Ford and Cadillac combined. For example

Durant eventually tried to buy Ford but failed. The following year durant created the General

After everything Durant did he was recognized as one of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time.
