As I woke up from our hotel in Wilderswil I was filled with excitement for I knew today was the day I would get to see the picturesque Swiss Alps. The day began as every other had before. Wake up, go downstairs, and eat a traditional European breakfast consisting of brotchen, coffee, and cold cuts. When breakfast was over we were able to begin our journey up the mountain. It started with the short train ride in Wilderswil where we had a scenic ride through the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Upon arrival in Lauterbrunnen, we boarded a cogwheel train which took us to the quaint village of Wengen, a town without cars, and halfway up the mountainside.
