Explain why you agree or disagree with your results
I had a very high score in all areas of the PsyCap self-assessment. The PsyCap self-assessment measures human resource strengths and cognitive capacity mainly in four areas; efficacy, optimism, resiliency and hope. I scored highest in the areas of hope and optimism where I scored 18 points out of 18. The high points in the area of home might be reasonable considering my strong beliefs and perseverance towards achieving my set goals. In addition, I tend to be a very positive person as I am each time expecting a better outcome and this could explain my high score in the area of optimism. I also scored reasonably high in the other two areas of efficacy and resiliency where I got 16 and 17 points respectively. Am a quite resilient and when faced with problems, I am always determined to find solutions to improve my situation. When it comes to efficacy, I put on my best efforts to succeed through a challenging task and get results even though it is not easy all the time. Accordingly, in most cases, I am quite dependable when producing results but at times the pressure becomes too much. Overall, I scored 10 out of 10 which translates to 100%. Therefore, I agree with the PsyCap self-assessment results as the scores accurately define my hopeful, optimistic and resilient

For this assignment I am going to describe the purpose of assessment in nursing as a whole, but also relate this to my field of practice which is children and young people’s nursing. Nursing assessment can be done in many ways and also requires many different skills and approaches to be able to understand the needs of the patient in order for their health concerns to be investigated. This piece of work will look into what assessment is, how it is carried out and the reasons why it is important. Completing a comprehensive, holistic assessment enables the nurse to establish a baseline of information against of which, new and changing information can then be compared (Dougherty, Lister 2011).
